A feast of free family entertainment is being staged in the city this weekend.
Get down to the city centre and gorge yourself on street food made from fresh local produce. Local traders will also be selling their wares at the huge Hull Show, while visitors and residents can also head over to the Old Town for a community event featuring fun, frolics … and more food. We have picked out two strong exhibitions for those seeking more than a fun day out followed by a stomach ache …

1. Yum! Festival of Food and Drink
Queens Gardens and Rose Bowl
Friday and Saturday 11am-7pm
Free
The ninth two-day festival features fresh local produce and tasty street food across more than 70 stalls.
Don’t look out of your window, just head to Queens Gardens for 11am. Glorious sunshine here*.

2. Hull Show

This huge event promises to exhibit the city’s real community spirit through local traders, live entertainment, food and drink and a mega funfair.

3. Hull Minster Community Fun Day

Family fun featuring games, stalls, music, rides and delicious food from the Minster Kitchen, all in the shadow of the magnificent Hull Minster, the largest parish church in the country.

4. Is It My Fault?

This hard-hitting exhibition is being staged to dispel myths of rape and sexual assault, including provocative dress being a factor in violent sexual crimes.

5. Wildlife Photographer Of The Year

This world-renowned exhibition in neighbouring Beverley is back for a third year by popular demand, on loan from the Natural History Museum in London.
