There’s just under two weeks left for Hull’s green-fingered residents to enter the city-wide competition Hull in Bloom 2019.
Hull in Bloom is a chance for the city’s budding gardeners to showcase their skills and be recognised for the effort they put in to adding splashes of colour to Hull’s green spaces.
Andrew Wilson, parks and open spaces manager at Hull City Council, said: “Hull in Bloom is a chance for the city’s green-fingered residents to work together and make a real difference to their own personal green spaces.
“Last year, we had more than 150 applicants enter Hull in Bloom and it was wonderful to see the high-calibre of gardening skills that were on display.”
Residents can enter the competition here.

Best display by a commercial organisation
Best garden
Best planted container or hanging basket
Best allotment garden
Best display by a community group
Best display by a school
The competition closes on Sunday 30 June. Judging will begin on Monday 8 July.
Meet last year’s winner Jeannie Webster, who runs the community Rainbow Garden in Orchard Park.
The celebration event for Hull in Bloom 2019 will be held in September.
