New booking system for Healthy Holidays scheme

An exciting change is coming to Healthy Holidays Hull – for the first time all activities can easily be booked online with one single log-in. The brand new booking system means sessions can be secured, rather than booking directly through a number of different providers. The change is designed to make the process quicker, simpler and more convenient for families.

The new system, called Eequ, can be accessed through the existing Healthy Holidays Hull site families will be familiar with. Parents and carers will just need to create an account, add on their children, which can then be used to book activities as desired across the site.

Healthy Holidays Hull activities are a staple of school breaks in Hull. The scheme has been running for several years, expanding from its original summer holidays slot to include sessions during Easter and winter breaks.

It is free, open to all, and designed to ensure every school-aged child and young person in the city can enjoy range of activities without the worry of cost. Most sessions also include a nutritious food offer to help fill the gap left at lunchtime when schools are shut.

Cllr Linda Tock, Portfolio Holder for Children’s Services at Hull City Council, said: “This new booking system has been introduced because we’ve listened to parents and carers. We know how much the Healthy Holidays Hull sessions are enjoyed and valued by thousands of families throughout the city. We also know that contacting several different providers if you are booking a number of sessions at once isn’t convenient. This simple, streamlined process will remove barriers, speed booking up and free up time and stress.

“We’re very much looking forward to the new system launching in time for the summer programme. While we don’t have full and final details of the schedule yet, we do know it will offer the usual scope and variety of activity families look forward to, from sports and other physical activity like dance, to creative pursuits”.

By using Eequ, families will be able to:

•            Register quickly and securely with one account

•            View and book available Healthy Holidays Hull sessions in one place

•            Manage bookings more easily across the programme

•            Save time by avoiding multiple registration processes.

Families will be given clear guidance on how to use the booking system, so it is easy to access the programme. The change is part of Healthy Holidays Hull’s ongoing commitment to improving access to the programme and ensuring that children and young people can easily take part in fun, healthy activities during the school holidays.

Families will be supported through the transition, with clear guidance available on how to register and start booking sessions using the new system on their website.

The internet can be accessed for free at all libraries in the city, with help on hand from library staff if needed.

Once live, Eequ will be available through the Healthy Holidays Hull website: https://www.healthyholidayshull.org/
