North Road in Hull will be subject to a full road closure this weekend due to emergency carriageway resurfacing works.
The closure is to facilitate resurfacing works adjacent to Francis Askew Primary School, located at the signalised pedestrian crossing, on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 May.
The works are essential after Hull City Council identified that the carriageway was in poor condition and the improvements will ensure the road provides a safe, even surface for all users.
During this period, the road will be under full closure, with a signed diversion in place via Askew Avenue and Boothferry Road.

Chris Jackson, director for regeneration and partnerships at the council, said: “The council has identified the need for these improvements and has acted quickly to resurface the road at the earliest opportunity.
“We appreciate that North Road is a busy road on our network and thank our road users for their patience during the works this weekend.”
Work will commence on site from 8am on Saturday 9 May, with the closure remaining in place until 5pm on Sunday 10 May.
These will be carried out on behalf of the council by East Coast Surfacing Ltd.
