Hull City Council has welcomed the opening of a new supported living service providing high-quality homes and personalised support for people with mental health and learning disabilities.
Developed in partnership with St Anne’s Community Services and Henley Investment Company, the service features six self-contained supported living apartments, designed to help residents live as independently as possible while staying connected to their local community.
Each resident has their own private flat, including a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom, alongside access to 24/7 on-site support. Support is focused on wellbeing, tenancy sustainment and building independence, ensuring help is available when needed, while enabling residents to maintain control over their day-to-day lives.
The development has revitalised a local property on the Boulevard, reinvesting in the area and supporting the surrounding community. Its central location provides residents with easy access to shops, cafés, the library and other everyday essentials, helping them maintain routines, social connections and a strong sense of belonging.
Supported living offers housing alongside tailored care and support, enabling people to live safely and independently in their own homes or shared settings, while remaining active members of their communities.
Shaun Finegan, Director of Housing Estates at St Anne’s, said: “This service is the result of strong partnership working with Hull City Council’s Adult Social Care team and Henley Investment Company. Together, we’ve delivered six high-quality, self-contained apartments that will make a real difference to people’s lives.”
Councillor Linda Chambers, Portfolio Holder for Adult Social Care, said:
“The opening of Boulevard is a positive step for Hull. This development provides high-quality supported living in the heart of the community, helping people to live independently, feel secure in their homes and remain connected to the places that matter most to them.”
