The Leader of Hull City Council, Councillor Mike Ross, has issued a statement about an attack at a synagogue in Manchester:
“I am horrified by the incident that has taken place in Manchester.
“This attack is all the more shocking, taking place on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.
“My thoughts and prayers are with anyone affected by this appalling incident, including our Jewish community here in Hull.
“There is no place for hate in any form in our society and we condemn those who carry out these vile acts.”
