This Yorkshire Day, Hull is spreading the love with the launch of a new video titled From Hull, With Love x – a heartfelt message from the people of Hull and East Yorkshire to the rest of the UK.
To celebrate the launch, a dedicated group of HEY! Volunteers are heading to London today to personally hand out invitations to come and experience the rich culture, warmth, and unique charm of Hull and East Yorkshire.
The initiative marks a fresh approach to last year’s high-profile Yorkshire Day activity, where a large-scale stunt turned heads across the capital. In 2025, the message remains just as powerful – delivered with a personal touch and genuine Yorkshire spirit.
This year’s celebration is a collaborative effort between HEY! Volunteering, Visit Hull, and Hull Trains. The volunteers will travel via Hull Trains’ direct service to London, delivering their message of welcome and extending a personal invitation to discover the region’s coastal beauty, cultural scene, and iconic maritime heritage.
Every hand sealed envelope includes discounted travel via Hull Trains as well some lucky recipients receiving tickets to shows at Connexin Live, Hull Truck Theatre and Hull New Theatre.
Cllr Rob Pritchard, portfolio holder for culture and leisure said: “From Hull, With Love x sends our message far and wide that we’re ready to welcome visitors to our beautiful city and region. I know our HEY! Volunteers will do an excellent job showcasing what we have to offer and spreading local love to all they encounter.”
Deputy Lieutenant Chris Blacksell, Chair of Visit Hull & East Yorkshire Advisory Board said: “Yorkshire Day is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate everything that makes Hull and East Yorkshire such a distinctive and welcoming destination. From Hull, With Love x captures the warmth, pride and personality of our region, and we’re delighted to be sharing that message with the capital. Tourism plays a vital role in our local economy, and this campaign is all about inspiring new visitors and showcasing the best of what we have to offer – delivered straight from the amazing HEY Volunteers.”
Louise Mendham, Service Delivery Director at Hull Trains, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be from Yorkshire and to support the brilliant people who make the area so special every day. As well as providing direct links for local people to travel to destinations including Doncaster, Selby and London, we also regularly support our local communities and the fantastic charities across our region.
“We’ve teamed up with local partners HEY! Volunteering and Visit Hull & East Yorkshire on a number of occasions to showcase our part of the world. Yorkshire Day is the perfect chance to do just that and we’re delighted that volunteers will be travelling with us on the big day as they visit London to spread the word about why people should visit Hull. Doing so by train is the most sustainable and affordable option!”
The video From Hull, With Love x showcases voices from the region and highlights what makes Hull such a special place to live, work and visit.
With last year’s campaign generating widespread media attention and capturing the public’s imagination, the 2025 activity offers a new, heartfelt way to inspire visits to Hull and East Yorkshire – led by the people who know it best.
