Hull Museums is inviting families to ‘make history this summer’ with an exciting new campaign designed to turn the summer holidays into an unforgettable adventure across the city’s most loved heritage venues.
Running throughout the school break, the activities offers a rich mix of free and low-cost events, from hands-on archaeology sessions to vintage flair — ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Families can enjoy a varied programme of drop-in craft activities, family trails, and interactive exhibits, giving young explorers the chance to get hands-on with history across Hull Museums sites.
New for summer 2025, Hull Museums is unveiling a pop-up food and drink offer, serving refreshments, sweet treats and ice cream.
In the beautiful museum gardens, visitors will find large-scale lawn games perfect for playful breaks between museum visits.
Picnic tables will also be available outside, offering families a chance to relax and recharge between activities.
As part of the campaign, children can engage with a wildlife trail for Hull Museums gardens, featuring six delightful animal characters. Collect a ‘Summer at Hull Museums’ passport and earn stamps when visiting each museum and taking part in activities. Special rewards are on offer for those who complete the trail.
“We’ve designed this summer to be one of curiosity, creativity and community,” said Jane Avison, Museums and Gallery Manager at Hull Museums. “There’s no better time to reconnect with Hull’s amazing museums.”
Councillor Rob Pritchard, portfolio holder for culture and leisure said: “Our museums and galleries are the perfect place for families over the summer holidays. There is always something to see and do and the team have developed a fantastic scheme for summer 2025.”
All activities are free to access or low-cost, and no booking is required for most events. Check the Hull Museums website for further details.
