Vivergo Fuels – joint statement from Hull City and East Riding of Yorkshire Councils
Council Leaders Councillor Mike Ross and Councillor Anne Handley statement on Vivergo Fuels:
“Hull and East Riding councils remain extremely concerned and disappointed that despite engagement with the government, Vivergo Fuels could still be forced to close its Saltend production facility.
“Whilst we welcome the recent talks with the Government, alongside the new memorandum of understanding with a private firm announced by managing director Ben Hackett, the Government must go further to ensure the jobs of our residents are secured for the long-term future.
“We call on our local MPs to press the Government alongside us.
“In the meantime, our councils will work together through the Employment Hub | Hull to provide support to the employees affected.”
