As part of Hull City Council’s ongoing investment in the city’s footpaths, essential improvement work will commence on Rosmead Street next week.
The improvement work will involve resurfacing and reconstructing the footpaths on both sides of the carriageway, spanning the entire length of Rosmead Street.
These upgrades will address areas of the footpaths that have deteriorated over time, ensuring a safer and more accessible walkway for local residents.
The scheme is scheduled to begin on Monday 23 June and is expected to last for approximately four weeks, weather permitting.
Work will take place Monday to Friday, between 8am and 5pm. Work will not be carried out outside these hours, or at weekends, unless emergency work is necessary.
To ensure the safety of both the public and the construction workers, temporary footpath closures and some parking bay suspensions will be in place during working hours.
Pedestrian access to all properties will be maintained at all times, with a signed pedestrian diversion to be provided.
Further, the footpaths and parking bays will be returned to normal use each evening and over the weekends.
Councillor Mark Ieronimo, portfolio holder for transport and infrastructure at Hull City Council said: “We know how important well-maintained footpaths are to our residents – not just for safety, but for everyday convenience.
“These works on Rosmead Street are part of our wider commitment to improving the city’s footpaths, one street at a time.
“I’d like to thank everyone in the area for their patience and understanding while we carry out these essential improvements.”
Letters have been issued, in advance, to all residents and businesses affected by these works. Properties directly impacted will receive a second letter at least 48 hours before work begins outside their premises.
The scheme will be carried out by Redevelop Civil Engineering Limited on behalf of the council.
