Hull City Council is set to begin essential resurfacing works across five streets in Orchard Park, as part of its ongoing investment in improving the city’s footways.
The works will take place on Faircourt, Earlescourt, Didscourt, Chadcourt, and Blaycourt, focusing on resurfacing and reconstructing deteriorated sections of the footpaths.

The project will also introduce additional green spaces by removing areas of redundant hard standing and replacing them with new grass verges.
To promote safety and accessibility, new pedestrian safety barriers will be installed to help reduce cycling speeds and discourage antisocial behaviour.
Once completed, the upgraded footpaths will offer a smoother, safer, and more accessible surface for all users.
Works are scheduled to begin on Monday 23 June and are expected to be completed by Friday 8 August, weather permitting.
To reduce the impact on residents the work will be carried out in three separate stages on the following dates:
Phase one: Faircourt, Earlescourt, and Didscourt – Monday 23 June to Friday 18 July
Phase two: Didscourt and Chadcourt – Monday 14 July to Friday 1 August
Phase three: Chadcourt and Blaycourt – Monday 28 July to Friday 8 August
To allow these works to be done safely, they will require the closure of footpaths. However, access will be maintained for residents.
Councillor Mark Ieronimo, portfolio holder for transport and infrastructure at Hull City Council, said: “These works are essential to repairing and preserving the condition of the footpaths, preventing further deterioration and ensuring they remain reliable for everyone who uses them.
“We are committed to maintaining safe and accessible footpaths across the city, and these improvements will provide smoother, more durable surfaces for all pedestrians.
“This scheme represents a significant investment in Orchard Park’s footpath infrastructure, enhancing safety, accessibility, and overall quality for residents.”
The scheme will be funded by Hull City Council’s Capital Footway Programme and carried out by S&R Groundworks on behalf of the Council.
