Residents, businesses and landowners within Marfleet Village Conservation Area are invited to share their views on proposed changes to the area.
The public can give their opinion from tomorrow, Saturday 1 February, during consultation on the adoption of a new Character Appraisal and Management Plan for the conservation area and proposed amendments to its designated boundary.
The proposals reflect the current status of Marfleet Village Conservation Area and includes the removal of industrial land and buildings which have been developed within the area’s boundary and no longer warrant heritage designation.
The new Character Appraisal and Management Plan identifies the retained special interest of the conservation area and provides a management document for its future development.
Marfleet Village Conservation Area consists of the area of land and buildings located on Church Lane, the industrial buildings and land to the east and south of Church Lane and the section of Marfleet Lane located between Church Lane and Hedon Road.
Cllr Paul Drake-Davis, portfolio holder for regeneration at Hull City Council, said: “This project shows the council remains committed to ensuring that all of Hull’s conservation areas are up-to-date.
“Marfleet Village Conservation Area has changed significantly since its most recent character appraisal back in 2004, so feedback from those who live and work in the area is vital to ensure the council’s proposals matched what is required for the area.”
The public have until Sunday 16 March to provide feedback on the proposals.
This can be done online here or by visiting a consultation session being held on Monday 17 February from 2:45-6:30pm at St Giles’ Church on Church Lane, HU9 5RL, where council officers will be on hand to answer questions and help fill in the consultation.
Site notices will be displayed throughout the conservation area and individual letters will be distributed to residents/businesses and land/property owners.
