Last chance to secure prizes by completing Playing Pitch Strategy survey

Sports clubs in Hull have been urged to enter a draw for exciting prizes, such as hospitality tickets at Hull City, by airing their views on the city’s sporting facilities by this Friday, 6 September.

Other prizes including free swimming and skating lessons can be done by those completing the Playing Pitch Strategy (PPS) survey.

The PPS is essential to ensure that Hull City Council can make informed decision on future sports pitch improvements in Hull, as well as unlocking significant funding for clubs from the Football Foundation.

To do this however, it needs local sports clubs to support it by filling in the survey, with levels currently below the response rate needed to qualify for funding and subsequent improvements.

In particular, rugby union club responses are critical, as well as additional feedback from rugby league and football clubs.

Cllr Rob Pritchard, portfolio holder for culture and leisure at the council, said: “It’s vitally important that our sports club fill in the Playing Pitch Strategy survey.

“The council strives to ensure this city has adequate sporting facilities but needs the support of local clubs to ensure it can do that by helping to unlock funding to put back into the community.

“I would like to thank all those who have already completed the survey and urge any clubs who haven’t yet to do so as soon as possible.”

The Tigers Trust has provided 2x hospitality places at a Hull City home game in the Ambassador Suite, including a three-course meal, with pre-game entertainment and player appearances.

There is also a day’s Free Football Centre place for autumn half-term, whilst HCAL has provided family swim and family skate sessions can be won by those completing the PPS survey.

Organisations have already been contacted about this and those clubs who have already completed the survey have been included in the prize draw.

The survey has been emailed to all known sports clubs and they are urged to complete and return to hullpps@hullcc.gov.uk.

The same email address can also be used to request a link to the survey.
