Hull History Centre receives essential maintenance works

Hull History Centre will undergo planned building works between Monday 29 January and Monday 12 March 2018.

During this period people visiting Hull History Centre who require access to the original archive material and historic documents will need to make an appointment. Access to the library and arcade area will be open as normal.

To prepare for the works the History Centre will be closed on Friday 26 January.

Councillor Terry Geraghty, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Tourism and Chair of Hull Culture & Leisure Limited, said: “The planned works to the centre are mainly behind the scenes and are expected to take six weeks to complete. The main public areas including the arcade and library will remain open to visitors and will not be affected by the works.

“We have made every effort to ensure there is minimal disruption during this short period. By making an appointment with the centre visitors will still be able to access the information they need. We will work closely with the contractors to ensure the work is completed as quickly as possible so the venue can resume its high standards of service.”

The full service is expected to resume from Tuesday 13 March.

Full details of the temporary arrangements can be found on the History Centre website see www.hullhistorycentre.org.uk

The Hull History Centre is open Tuesday to Friday, 9.30am and 5.30pm and the first and third Saturday of the month, 9am – 4.30pm.
