Get active in your local library! Sessions for the over 50s

Sessions for the over 50s are available in one of the city’s libraries.

The free weekly sessions are aimed for people aged 50 and over who will have the chance to keep fit in a local library.

The first session for 2018 takes place at Ings Road Library, Savoy Road on Monday 8 January between 10 – 11.15am and every Monday thereafter. These free activity sessions are ideal for people over 50 and are a great way to meet new friends whilst keeping fit and active followed by a natter and a cuppa.

Those attending the sessions will participate in gentle standing or chair based exercises.

Councillor Terry Geraghty, Chair of Hull Culture & Leisure Limited and Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Tourism, said: “Recent reports have shown that as you grow older keeping active and socialising is important for health and well-being. These free activities are recommended for the benefits they provide.”

Places for the sessions are limited, it is advisable to book by calling the Ings Road library on 01482 331 250. For more information check out www.hcandl.co.uk/libraries
