Hull City Council has announced that investigation works on Boothferry Road Footbridge will commence from Monday 31 July for approximately three weeks.
The essential work will be carried out by the Hull City Council Bridges Team and Civil Engineering company PBS Construction.
Work will include the excavation of the carriageway on Boothferry Road. This will allow the team to carry out investigation works on a hidden element of the Boothferry Road Footbridge at the junction with Anlaby Park Road North and Anlaby Park Road South.
The works, which will be operated under a full road closure, will commence on Monday 31 July at 9.30am and are planned to be completed by Friday 18 August at 4.30pm.
Councillor Mark Ieronimo, Portfolio Holder for Roads, and Transport, said: “These are critical investigative works which will help us to understand the condition of the footbridge.
“To carry the work out safely, there will be a road closure in place that will result in some disruption.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all road users in advance for their patience and understanding during these works.”
Signed diversion routes will be in place whilst the works are carried out.
