Resident viewed the ceremony on two large screens located on Hull City Hall balcony and in Trinity Market. The screens we’re made possible thanks funding from the government.
Street performances brought the city to life in Queen Victoria Square, King Edward St and Beverley Gate.
Sand sculptures, circus skills, royal-themed craft workshops and assault courses provided something for all ages, whilst HEY volunteers signposted visitors to activities and handed-out keepsakes to mark this momentous day in history.
Live streamed in Hull City Centre, Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, conducted the coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey in London.
The Archbishop of Canterbury anointed Charles with holy oil and crowned him with St. Edward’s Crown. Members of the royal family, government officials, and representatives from the Commonwealth realms also attended the royal ceremony.
King Charles III is now the first British monarch to be crowned in 70 years following the service.
