Reconstruction and resurfacing works on Park Street in Hull have been completed ahead of schedule.
The improvements began in mid-April and road closures were expected to be in place until Sunday 14th May.
However, Park Street, between Anlaby Road and Spring Bank, has been reopened today, Friday 5 May, nine days ahead of schedule.
The resurfacing was completed by contractors C R Reynolds and drivers can now enjoy a smooth and safer journey when using Park Street between Anlaby Road and the entrance to the Tesco car park.
The two-part works were required to ensure the road did not fall into a state of disrepair which would have required longer disruptions.
Mark Jones, director for regeneration for Hull City Council, said: “We are delighted to announce that the planned road improvement works for Park Street have been completed ahead of schedule.
“This is thanks to the efficiency of our contractors C R Reynolds.
“We understand that these works caused some disruption to motorists, however we know they will appreciate the speed in which they were completed and the quality of the new surface.”
