We would like to introduce the wonderful Derrick and Jayne who have been foster carers since 2017.
Derrick and Jayne embrace their fostering role and commitment to children wholeheartedly.
In addition to their busy household, they are also active members at one of our monthly support groups, are currently mentoring another newly approved carer and are very encouraging, offering support and advice to everyone in our fostering community.
In the six years they have been fostering with us, they have cared for 11 babies and children and are key members to our wide fostering community, attending lots of the fostering events and activities with their family and all the children in their care.
Fostering social worker Susanne, said; “I have not worked with Jayne and Derrick for very long but during this time I have seen their nurturing approach to fostering. They embrace their role and commitment to looking after the younger children that need care.
“Both Derrick and Jayne are very warm, nurturing, and attentive people who give physically and emotionally to the children in their home. The children whilst in their care become the focus of much adult attention and interaction which is wonderful to see.
“They are inclusive of the children’s birth families and work with parents wherever possible to make sure that they have confidence to meet the daily needs of their young children and babies.
“Derrick and Jayne have a very busy household but one that is very family centred, warm and kind. Once a child has touched their lives they are, wherever possible, keen to know of their progress and keep in touch; further expanding their family!”
We are so proud Derrick and Jayne are part of our fostering family, the love, care and devotion they give to all the babies and children in their care is outstanding.
