Janet and Clive are now in their 40th year of fostering children in Hull and can remember the name of all the 40 children and young people they have ever looked after.
Janet and Clive have cared for brothers and sisters, children who didn’t speak English, children with disabilities, and helped children transition to their forever homes through adoption and young people onto independence.
Clive once missed the beginning of his own holiday to make sure a little boy who was returning to Poland arrived safely.
When a young man who felt unsafe at a time in his life and justifiably refused to work with any professionals, he remembered how Clive and Janet had made him feel whilst staying in their home.
So, at the request of the young man and in Clive’s own time, Clive spent time rebuilding the young man’s trust in the world and enough confidence again to accept help.
Janet and Clive’s fostering social worker, Diana said; “I cannot praise my foster carers enough. Janet and Clive still have regular visitors from some of their foster children now they are grown up and have kept in contact with a lot of them. They are truly amazing foster carers.”
We could not be prouder of you both Janet and Clive.
Thank you for everything you have and continue to do for so many children in Hull.
