Five ensembles from Hull have made it through to the national finals of Music for Youth.
Hymers Junior School Years 6 choir, Albemarle Stringtastic, Albemarle Chamber Ensemble, SpiritU’ll and Hull Youth Jazz Orchestra have all made it through the regional heat performing alongside ensembles from across the region. Some of the groups will head to Birmingham in early July to compete in the final.
James Dickinson, Head of Hull Music Service said: “I am delighted that after another really successful Music for Youth regional festival at the Albemarle, so many local groups were rewarded for all their hard work.”
Councillor Mike Ross, Leader of Hull City Council said: “The council is committed to nurturing and supporting ensemble music making – which was hit particularly hard during the pandemic. This success is an important part of that process.”
