Hull’s free Play Day festival returns to Queens Gardens next week.
Queens Gardens will become a huge outdoor playground as children, young people and families take part in a celebration of the importance of play.
The 16th annual festival in Hull takes place on Wednesday 7 August from 11am to 3pm.
Activities include bike try-outs, family yoga, donkey rides, crafts, baby sensory and more.
Alison Murphy, children and family services director, said: “National Play Day is a fantastic event and highlights the importance of play in children’s lives.
This year’s Play Dday festival will include bike try-outs, family yoga, donkey rides and crafts.
“Play is an essential part of every child’s life and is a big part of their social, emotional, intellectual and physical development.
“Play Day provides an ideal opportunity for families across the city to come together to play and have fun. It promotes the benefits and positive impact that playing has on children’s mental and physical health as well as being a great free day out.”
The event is organised and funded by Hull City Council.
