A burst water main in Spring Bank West in Hull has led to road closures in the area.
The road is likely to remain closed until the weekend due to the damage, Yorkshire Water has confirmed.
A Yorkshire Water spokesperson said: “One of our big strategic water mains on Spring Bank West in Hull city centre burst last night. We’ve been working through the night to get the water back on and put the diversion route in place.
Due to a burst water main on #Springbankwest we have a #Roadclosure in place for #WaltonStreet #ChanterlandsAve & Springbank West. The signed diversion route via Albert Ave, Anlaby Rd & Ferensway. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused & aim to complete the repairs ASAP pic.twitter.com/chDRKUQsXg

“Due to the damage caused by the burst, we’ve had to close Walton Street, Chanterlands Avenue and Spring Bank West to traffic. There’s a signed diversion route in place via Albert Avenue, Anlaby Road and Ferensway.
“We’re looking at various options to see if we can partially open the road but, due to the consequential damage, this isn’t possible at this moment. Once we’ve assessed the work that needs to be done to get the road back open safely, we’ll have a better understanding of timescales but we’re anticipating the road to be shut until at least the weekend.
“We’d like to thank all the local residents for bearing with us while we get this sorted.”
