Hull City Council extends KWL contract

Hull City Council has published a decision record to extend its contract with Kingston Works Limited (KWL) for a further five years. The contract covers repair and maintenance services to the city’s 23,500 council homes and related buildings.

Prior to the decision, which was made under delegated powers authorised by Hull City Council’s Cabinet, an internal review of the contract’s original objectives was held, together with an independent analysis from ARK consultants. Both reviews concluded that extending the contract would build on improvements already made therefore delivering value for money and best value for the council.

Councillor John Black, Portfolio Holder for Housing said, “Following the first year of operation, as set out in the independent review undertaken by Ark, the decision to extend the KWL contract provides value for money and the right contract to deliver continuous improvement for effective service delivery.”
