Skills Bootcamps Hull & East Riding hosted a successful inaugural skills match event, which saw local employers connect with relevant training providers, as it begins to roll out its record-breaking Wave 6 of the programme.
The scheme received £10m of funding from the Department for Education in March which was accepted by Hull City Council and is managed by Hull Training and Adult Education.
Over 90 Hull & East Riding based employers, including Sewell Group, INEOS, KCOM, Ebuyer, Spire Healthcare and Keepmoat were invited to Aura Innovation Centre in Hessle to listen to Skills Bootcamps training providers showcase how they can assist businesses to upskill their staff this year.
The networking event focused on sectors tailored to the businesses attending, included digital and business support, manufacturing, engineering and construction.

Cllr Linda Tock, portfolio holder for Hull Training at the council, said: “This was Skills Bootcamps’ inaugural skills match event and the feedback we have had has all been positive.
“There were connections made and these will hopefully prosper into a lasting working relationship for the benefit of the local economy.”
Employers of all sizes can access Skills Bootcamps funding through Hull and East Riding YORtender to create new, bespoke courses, either independently or in partnership with training providers.
This will help plug skills gaps for in-demand sectors to increase company productivity and growth.
