Essential overnight resurfacing works will be taking place from Monday November 8 in the latest phase of the multi-million-pound Stoneferry improvement scheme.
The work, which is expected to last about a week, will be undertaken overnight in order to minimise disruption. Work will be carried out from 7pm to 6am, Monday to Friday (including Saturday morning).
During the work, Stoneferry Road (southbound) will be closed from Ferry Lane Roundabout to Chamberlain Roundabout. This will include the Lorraine Street junction.
Access to Lorraine Street will be as normal from Ferry Lane Roundabout, with traffic marshals to escort vehicles through the works between 7pm and 6am. A similar arrangement will be in place for vehicles leaving Lorraine Street towards Chamberlain Roundabout.
Councillor Dean Kirk, portfolio holder for transportation, roads and highways said: “With the Stoneferry improvement scheme, we are improving access and use for thousands of residents and businesses in the area.
“These closures will be overnight in order to minimise disruption and ensure this stage of the works can be completed as quickly and efficiently as possible.
“Noise mitigation has been a core consideration in the selection of equipment. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
