Hull City Council, as part of Hull’s Early Help Partnership, is proud to be taking part in the second year of Baby Week. A whole host of free events and activities across the city will be taking place.
The collaboration supports parents, carers and families working with other partners, including midwives, health visitors, the voluntary sector, nurseries and libraries, to ensure children can get the best possible start in life.
During Baby Week, Hull hosts activities to highlight the first 1,001 days of a child’s life, so they can thrive, and grow into happy and healthy children and adults.
This year, Baby Week takes place from 14th to 20th November and the theme is ‘Healthy Parent, Healthy Baby’. Events in Hull are taking place across the city, in locations including Family Hubs, libraries and more.
The timetable includes a day of activities at Hull Central Library on Albion Street. The event will include information on healthy eating, infant feeding, weaning, oral hygiene and physical activity with free snacks there will be free snacks and refreshments available.
Other sessions across the city include sensory and messy play, buggy walks plus lots more.
Hull’s 0-19 Service have been chosen to facilitate two workshops at the National Baby Week Conference in Leeds during Baby Week which includes ‘Increasing and Normalising Breastfeeding in Hull’.
Councillor Linda Tock, portfolio holder for children’s services at Hull City Council, said: “It’s great to celebrate Baby Week once more around Hull. We hope parents will take advantage of all the free events we have on offer – in-person and online – which can help with your child’s development and strengthen the bond between parent and child.”
