Artists aged 15 and under are having their work displayed at one of the region’s most prestigious galleries.
The annual Junior Open at Ferens Art Gallery opens on Saturday, where the children’s work will be showcased alongside the renowned Ferens permanent collection.
The exhibition will run until 26 January.
Councillor Marjorie Brabazon, chair of Hull Culture and Leisure, said: “The Junior Open provides a great opportunity for young artists to show work in their local gallery alongside established artists from the permanent collection. Encouraging creativity at all stages of life is vital to the Ferens.”
The work will be displayed in three age categories – 6 and under, 7 to 11 and 12 to 15.
The exhibition has been sponsored by the Friends of the Ferens and The Hull and East Riding branch of The Art Society, who will provide prizes for the winning entries.
