Home-grown heroes, bdrmm, headline Humber Street Sesh 2024

The critically acclaimed 4-piece Hull band, bdrmm, hailed last year by NME as one of “Britain’s best kept musical secrets,” will headline the Main Stage at Humber Street Sesh this year.

The annual, award-winning music festival, Humber Street Sesh will take place on August 3rd and is expected to attract around 20,000 people throughout the day, showcasing over 100 acts and providing a platform for emerging musicians from the region and beyond.

Mark Page, Festival Artistic Director, said: “We are absolutely over the moon that bdrmm are our Main Stage headline act this year. They’ve rightly gained the attention and respect of the UK independent music scene and we’re honoured to have them.

“They have a huge following in their hometown, and they’ll be an amazing headline act on the Main Stage this year.”

Bdrmm, the festival’s headline act, is on a stellar trajectory. The Hull band have come a long way from a debut at Hull’s Adelphi via support slots with Her’s, Viagra Boys and Fat White Family to appearing with Ride at the Roundhouse, to UK and European tours with Mogwai which included appearing at London’s 10,400-capacity Alexandra Palace in 2022.

The band made their mark with their mid-pandemic debut album of 2020, “Bedroom” which was lauded by NME in a 5-star review as “a modern-day shoegaze classic;” and hailed by the Guardian as “one of the underground hits of lockdown.” Their critically acclaimed second album, “I Don’t Know” followed in 2023 revealing a confident, expansive sound and movement towards immersive electronica.
