Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly to perform in Hull – in hologram form

Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly are back and performing their greatest hits in Hull.

But you won’t need to travel back in time to see the show – as the rock and roll legends will appear in hologram form.

Roy Orbison & Buddy Holly: The Rock ’N’ Roll Dream Tour is coming to the Bonus Arena in Hull later this year.

The ground-breaking show features a cutting edge holographic performance from the 1950s stars.

Remastered audio from the legends, plus a live band and back-up singers, will transport audiences back in time.

The show will visit the city on Monday 14 October as part of a full UK arena tour.

It is being staged by Base Hologram, which organised last year’s pioneering holographic In Dreams: Roy Orbison in Concert tour.

Chairman Brian Becker said: “Both Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly set the stage for what was to come down the road in the music industry. These two men were forward-thinkers who understood what new forms of technology could do for their craft.

“They defined the genre of rock and roll, from writing to recording to the standard band configuration and they influenced everyone from Elvis to The Beatles.

“Now to be able to recapture that magic on a grand scale and let their fans see them together will be something truly special.”

Tickets, priced from £45, will go on general sale at 9am on Friday. Get tickets here or by calling 0844 8440444.
