Allow us to introduce Becky and Paul who have been foster carers for 11 years with Hull Fostering, currently caring for one long term foster child and two children they care for as Special Guardians.
In the 11 years of fostering, Becky and Paul have cared for 32 children.
The couple are very child focused and committed to caring for their children to a high standard. Everyone who has lived with Becky and Paul are instantly made part of the family and all given the same care and opportunities as their birth children.
Becky and Paul are brilliant advocates for their foster child and work with social workers to make sure she has all she needs to support her development. Becky and Paul are committed to their foster child and give abundance of love and a caring home life.
In their 11 years, Becky and Paul have cared for siblings and offered a home to a young person they cared for after they turned 18, they have provided lots of emergency and short term care for children needing a home at very short notice.
Becky and Paul have often agreed at very short notice to care for children in emergency situations overnight or for a weekend, but then refused to move them until a suitable home is found, sometimes weeks even months, at a time. They have taken children camping with them when they have planned to go away, knowing that the child needs a home that night and nothing is ever too much trouble for them.
Children never want to leave them, as they are made to feel so welcome. Becky and Paul talk really fondly of every child they have cared for and are really skilled in bonding with the children and quickly learning about their trauma and what they need to feel safe.
Becky and Paul work really well with the children’s family members and have a lovely ongoing relationship with grandparents who now care for their own grandchild following her time living with Becky and Paul.
Fostering social worker, said “Becky and Paul are very committed to caring for looked after children in Hull. They are brilliant examples of how foster carers can offer children a settled family life when they are not able to live with their birth families. The children all have their siblings visit them at home, or carers will take them to grandparents houses, which makes their time together really natural and meaningful.
Becky and Paul are fabulous foster carers and I am proud to be their fostering social worker, seeing the changes they make to so many children’s lives.”
Thank you Becky and Paul for all the incredible care you provide to so many children and young people.
We are very lucky to have you as part of our fostering community.
