Plans have been approved to demolish Broadacre Primary School and replace it with a purpose-build primary school.
It will provide an additional 210 pupil places for children in the North Carr area of the city.
The plans include remodelling and expanding a number of schools to create a further 1,110 school pupil places within the city.
Hull City Council has received Basic Need funding from the Department of Education to provide additional pupil places.
The academies included are Kelvin Hall School, Boulevard Academy, St Mary’s College, Malet Lambert School, Newington Primary School Academy and Tweendykes Special School.
Councillor Peter Clark, portfolio holder for learning, skills and safeguarding children, said: “This investment will allow us to provide children in Hull with the educational provision and surroundings that they deserve.
“A large part of the investment will be spent on providing vital Special Educational Needs provision, something which, as a local authority, we have highlighted as being a top priority.
“We are all aware of the increasing demand for school places and Special Educational Needs provision, so it’s important that we proactively invest and ease the pressure on our schools.”
