Councillors have approved a £1.5 million investment in two Hull parks.
It will be spent on renovating the historic splash boat and splash pool in East Park. The popular aviary in Pickering Park will also be refurbished.
The listed Wicksteed splash boat has been providing thrills to visitors since 1929. It is one of just three left in the country.
Councillor Dave Craker, portfolio holder for culture, leisure and tourism, said: “We have some fantastic parks and open spaces and it’s vital that we maintain them and continue to invest in them.
“The splash boat, splash pool and aviary have been star attractions in these parks for generations. This investment will mean they can also be enjoyed by future generations.”
The plans are subject to the budget being approved at Full Council on Thursday.
