Overnight closures in Sutton Road as part of Stoneferry Corridor improvement scheme

Essential overnight resurfacing works will take place in Sutton Road from Wednesday 24 November in the latest phase of the multimillion-pound Stoneferry improvement scheme.

The work, which is expected to last about a week, will be undertaken overnight in order to minimise disruption. Work will be carried out from 7pm to 6am, Monday to Friday (including Saturday morning).

During the work, Sutton Road will be closed in both directions from Holwell Road roundabout to Ennerdale roundabout from Wednesday 24 November to Thursday 2 December. Access to the Aldi supermarket will be maintained from Holwell Road roundabout only.

Fully signed diversions will be in place.

Councillor Dean Kirk, portfolio holder for transportation, roads and highways said: “With the Stoneferry improvement scheme, we are improving access and use for thousands of residents and businesses in the area.

“These closures will be overnight in order to minimise disruption and ensure this stage of the works can be completed as quickly and efficiently as possible.

“Noise mitigation has been a core consideration in the selection of equipment. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
