Water play will arrive in Hull along with the predicted heatwave this Bank Holiday weekend.
Families can splash their way into the half-term holidays at Alderman Kneeshaw, Bude Road and West Park splash pads from Saturday 23 May.
The three splash pads will be open from 10am until 5pm on weekends, bank holidays and during school holidays until Monday 31 August, subject to air temperature being at least 16 degrees.
Leader of Hull City Council, Cllr Mike Ross, said: “Our parks are at the heart of our communities, and nothing signals the start of summer quite like the splashing of our water play features.
“By opening these across the city in time for the half-term holidays, we’re providing a free, safe, and exciting way for families to enjoy the hot weather it’s looking likely that we’re getting.
“We encourage residents and visitors to head down, pack a picnic, and enjoy the fantastic outdoor spaces we have right here in Hull.”
Paddling pools at Oak Road, Ings Road and West Park will open for the summer school holidays from Saturday 18 July until Monday 31 August.
A full refurbishment of the surface of the water play is currently taking place at East Park, alongside a brand-new padding pool currently under construction within Pickering Park.
These works are scheduled to be completed and facilities opened in time for the school summer holidays.
East Park’s splash boat remains operational during weekends, bank holidays and school holidays.
