Hull City Council has successfully applied to the county court to discharge the Section 222 injunction order regarding loitering or soliciting on Hessle Road.
It follows the outcome of a national case, which means a final injunction cannot be now be made against “persons unknown” – people who have not already committed the prohibited acts and who have not had notice of the court proceedings.
The court has today discharged the Section 222 order, which prohibited loitering or soliciting for the purpose of prostitution in Hessle Road.
The dismissal of the order takes immediate effect.
The Community Safety Partnership, Safer Hull, is in the process of developing a multi-agency strategy and plan for the area, which encompasses support for sex workers through to enforcement, and will include consultation with sex workers and the community that it affects.
