Contractor appointed for new splash pad at Bude Park

Hull residents will soon be able to enjoy brand new waterplay facilities at Bude Park after a contractor was appointed for refurbishment works.

A detailed decision record confirmed that Splash Pads Enterprises Limited has been awarded the tender to install a new splash pad.

The existing facility in north Hull is no longer functional and the new splash pad will provide a safer, more exciting and environmentally sustainable replacement, ensuring local communities have free-to-access amenities on their doorsteps.

This will provide exciting summer activities for young families and contribute towards Hull City Council’s priorities of improving wider leisure options.

Cllr Rob Pritchard, the council’s portfolio holder for culture and leisure, said: “I am delighted that the council has been able to appoint a contractor for the new splash pad at Bude Park.

“The council is aware of how popular waterplay is in the city and how disappointed our residents are when they’re not open.

“However, investment has been committed and people can look forward to enjoying Bude Park splash pad again soon.”

Bude Park’s new splash pad is being delivered by the council’s major projects team and will be operated by Hull Culture & Leisure.

Works are scheduled to start shortly, with the splash pad to be open to residents by the summer.

Toilet amenities on site will also be refurbished.

More information will be posted here in due course.
