Local dancers to take over Hull New Theatre

Dance groups from across Hull will take to the stage at Hull New Theatre this Sunday (26 February).

Hull City Council’s Youth Arts Initiative Creative Voice and Hull Dance will give young performers and choreographers a stage to showcase their talents on Sunday 26 February.

The evening will showcase work by youth dance companies from Hull and East Riding, as well as a piece inspired by repertoire from Balbir Singh Dance Company with students from Hull and Wilberforce Colleges.

Companies involved also include JoinedUp Dance Company, Max Life Dance Company, Ainthorpe Youth Centre, Pragnya Indian Dance, Freedom Road Creative Arts and Ganton School.

Ruth Drake, Hull City Council’s arts development officer, said: “The young people involved all enjoy dancing and are at difference stages in their dance journey.

“By taking part in Creative Voice Dance they are sharing and showcasing that the future of dance in our city and region is very promising as well as supporting their own individual development and progression.”
