Businesses in Hull can learn more about Hull and East Yorkshire’s devolution proposals, as well as Hull City Council’s upcoming budget forecast, at a business breakfast in the Guildhall next month.
Hull Business Breakfast will begin with a welcome from Hull City Council’s assistant director for economic development and regeneration, Alex Codd, before featuring an opening discussion on devolution.
Centred around the opportunities the devolution proposals would bring to Hull and how to take part in the ongoing public consultation, it will be led by the council’s leader, Cllr Mike Ross.
The council’s director of finance, David Bell, will then outline the council’s latest financial forecast ahead of the agreement of its 2024/25 budget.
Those in attendance will get the chance to quiz the council with a Q&A session.
Hull Business Breakfast follows on the from successful ‘Hull Business – Your Future’ event held in September 2023 which welcomed over 100 attendees.
Cllr Ross said: “Over the last year, we have seen last year the huge success and interest generated through our business breakfasts.
“Hull Business Breakfast next month is a great opportunity for businesses in Hull to gather an understanding of what the future could hold for our city through devolution, as well as to help address any questions they may have.
“I look forward to sharing information on devolution and discussing the opportunities it offers with Hull’s business community.”
The event will take place from 8-10am on Wednesday 7 February in Hull’s Guildhall on Alfred Gelder Street, with speaker sessions beginning at 8:30am.
