The seven-day rate of confirmed cases in Hull is 119.7 per 100,000 of the population.
The figure compares with a rate in England of 168.7 per 100,000 of population and with 280.5 per 100,000 across the Yorkshire and Humber region.
Julia Weldon, director of public health for Hull, said: “Like many areas across the country, our coronavirus rate continues to rise. It’s as important as ever that we all continue to follow public health advice, which includes practicing social distancing, washing our hands regularly and wearing a mask when required. The only way to control and stop the spread of the virus is for everyone to take responsibility and follow the guidance.
“The Coronavirus tier alert system is now in place. Hull is currently rated medium, however based on all available data we do anticipate that we will soon move to high, which will mean an increase in restrictions, particularly around personal and social interactions. Make sure you take notice of which tier we are in and any changes to this. Visit the government Coronavirus website for full detail of the three tiers”

As NHS Test and Trace is now operational, anyone could receive an email, text, call, or notification via the app if it is installed, asking them to isolate due to recent contact with someone with coronavirus.
