Drypool Bridge will close for three nights next week to allow for surveys to take place as part of the council’s Hull District Heat Network (HDHN) project.
The closures will take place on Clarence Street between 8pm and 6am on Monday 24, Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 June.
The road will reopen as normal at 6am each day before closing again at 8pm and then remain open as normal from 6am on Thursday 27 June.
Hull City Council’s appointed consultant, Arup, will be conducting a feasibility assessment of Drypool Bridge Tunnel where the network will cross the River Hull.
This is part of the first phase of HDHN, which will provide heat and hot water to a variety of council buildings, as well as other public and private sector organisations around the city centre.
Garry Taylor, the council’s assistant director for major projects culture and place, said: “This closure is essential to ensure necessary survey works are conducted as part of the Hull District Heat Network project.
“The council is aware that it is a popular route with road users and apologises for any inconvenience caused.”
A signed diversion will be in place during the closures.
HDHN contributes to the council’s ambition of responding to the climate and nature emergency.
