Come and meet the team from Hull Training and Adult Education (HTAE) at next week’s Skills Hull and East Riding event.
Taking place on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th March at Hull University’s Allam Sports Centre on Inglemire Lane, it will be provided by Optimus Education, the market leader in delivering skills, career and apprenticeship events.
Hull City Council is one of the primary sponsors of the free two-day exhibition aimed at school leavers and young people aged 15-24 that brings local employers, apprenticeship providers, colleges and universities together in one place.
Skills Hull and East Riding event is a chance for young people and their parents, carers and other influences to explore career options and plan their next steps.
They can learn about different industries by meeting with employers and current apprentices and taking part in engaging hands-on activities to fuel their ambition.
Visitors are welcome to chat with as many different employers and education providers as possible and try as many different activities as possible to get a feel for what they enjoy and what they want to learn more about.
HTAE’s team will provide interactive, hands-on activities to help support up to 3,000 visitors in finding their career pathways.
Cllr Paul Drake-Davis, the council’s portfolio holder for Hull Training, said: “I’m pleased the council will be a primary sponsor of the Skills Hull and East Riding event.
“It helps to bring together partners to provide great careers advice and guidance to young people in the area on a large scale.
“The council has got to put on events of this magnitude to ensure young people across Hull are aware of opportunities available post-education so they can make the right choices and progress into the correct careers going forward.”
The council’s HTAE team will attend the twilight session from 5-7pm on Tuesday 28th March and from 9:30am to 3pm on Wednesday 29th March.
