A new show from Hull’s award-winning Middle Child theatre company opens next week.
Us Against Whatever: A Karaoke Cabaret will be shown at the Hull Truck Theatre in Ferensway from Wednesday 27 March to Wednesday 3 April.
The story about life in Hull is told by two women who come together in a city centre karaoke bar.
It follows Anna, a Polish woman who is starting to think she made a mistake in moving to Hull, and Steph, who sees her home city changing under years of austerity.
And the show also offers audience members the chance to live out their own karaoke dreams by performing on the Hull Truck Theatre stage during two intervals.

It will be performed in Middle Child’s usual gig theatre style by a cast of actor-musicians, including Edyta Budnik, who recently appeared in BBC Three’s cult hit, Killing Eve.
Tickets cost £10.
The show on Wednesday 27 March is a “pay what you can” performance, while Saturday 30 March is captioned and Tuesday 2 April 2 includes a BSL interpreter.
