Hull Central Library is hosting a creative wellbeing event this week, with doors open to all.
Creative champion organisation, 64 Million Artists, will run ‘Creative Resolutions – An Open Space Un-Conference’ as an invitation to an Open Space gathering that will explore the question – ‘how can curiosity and creativity inspire and develop new ideas, and meaningful connections and collaborations?’
The event is part of an annual January challenge from 64 Million Artists who, over 31 days, provide quick creative prompts designed to inspire creativity and brighten up this sometimes difficult month, with thousands of people taking part in each year.
It takes place this Friday (24 January) at Hull Central Library and aims to gather people together to enable them to collaborate and help each other solve problems, find solutions to some of their most pressing issues, discuss projects and ideas and to make new useful connections.
The event will also include an open day in the Hull Central Library Makerspace, where visitors can find out more about what the space can offer. There will also be a pop-up record fair in the music library, plus the launch of an exhibition called ‘We Believe In Love Not luck’ featuring 18 large-scale photographic portraits and a selection of ceramics.
Cllr Rob Pritchard, portfolio holder for culture and leisure, said: “I’m delighted we’re teaming up with 64 Million Artists in their campaign to promote creativity for wellbeing during January.
“After the come down from Christmas, this event will offer a refreshing boost for anyone wanting to explore their creative side.”
The free event takes place 1-5pm this Friday 24 January and can be booked here. The photo exhibition is open 10am-6pm, Makerspace open day 10am-4pm and pop up record fair 11am-6pm.
