Footpath improvement works planned for one of Hull’s most popular parks

The iconic Pearson Park in west Hull will undergo essential resurfacing next month, to provide much needed improvements to the footpaths.

The improvements will involve resurfacing and reconstructing areas of the footpaths which have deteriorated.  Once finished the newly improved footpaths will provide a safe and even surface for everyone who uses the beloved park.

The work, which will focus on the footpaths surrounding the pond, outdoor gym area, bandstand and conservatory, is scheduled to begin on Monday 13 November and is expected to take approximately three weeks to complete – weather permitting.

Councillor Mark Ieronimo, Portfolio Holder for Transportation, Roads, and Highways at Hull City Council, said: “Pearson Park is very popular with the residents of Hull and these works are essential to stop the footpaths from falling into poor condition.

“This work will make the parks footpaths safe, usable and accessible to all.

“Investing in our city’s pavements is one of my main priorities, so I am happy to see that this work will be carried out imminently.”

The scheme will be funded by Hull City Council’s Capital Footway Programme and carried out by C R Reynolds Limited on behalf of the Council.
