Social workers across Hull City Council’s Children and Family Services have been honoured as some of the ‘Amazing Social Workers’ being celebrated for World Social Work Week.
Many individuals, as well as one of the teams, have been profiled as part of the British Association of Social Worker’s (BASW) annual celebrations.
The BASW is the UK’s professional membership organisation for social work.
Their ‘Amazing Social Workers’ campaign was launched as part of their annual World Social Work Month celebrations.
It provides the opportunity to celebrate the incredible work that social workers do.
The honoured Hull City Council staff social workers, social work apprentices, safeguarding officers, practice educators and more.

Pauline Turner, the Director of Children and Family Services at Hull City Council said: “Our teams that work with children go above and beyond to provide invaluable support to children and families in Hull, as well as educate the next generation of social workers.
“I’m so proud to see them being recognised for their incredible and vital work. They are an asset to the council and our city.”
Hull City Council has developed the Hull Social Work Academy, as they aspire to become the best place to practice social work and to make a positive difference to the lives of children, young people and their families. The academy trains student social workers and also ensures its social workers have access to continuous professional development.
