Hull City Council is delighted to announce that it is partnering with Siemens Gamesa to host a recruitment drive to fill hundreds of job roles.
The bespoke event will be held at the Employment Hub at Hull Central Library on Albion Street from 9:30am to 3pm on Thursday 23 February.
Siemens Gamesa, the world’s leader in the offshore wind industry, has invested millions of pounds into Hull and is now on the lookout for up to 300 new employees.
It is recruiting for various roles in production operatives and warehouse workers for its Alexandra Dock site and will give those in attendance the opportunity for face-to-face discussions about the roles on offer and find out more from current staff and representatives.
Siemens is particularly targeting the unemployed, those looking for a career change, veterans and those looking to return to work such as women returners.
Councillor Paul Drake-Davis, portfolio holder for regeneration at Hull City Council, said: “This is a fantastic initiative organised by the council’s Employment Hub team and Siemens Gamesa.
“Having been on a factory tour of its Alexandra Dock factory, I know first-hand the amazing work which Siemens Gamesa does and continues to do, all whilst supporting Hull’s economy as a key employer in the city.
“Previous recruitment drives like this have proved extremely popular, with thousands attending the events, so my advice is to declare your interest early so that you don’t miss out.”
Andy Sykes, Hull Blade Factory Plant Director for Siemens Gamesa, added: “We have come so far in such a short period of time and to have the opportunity to grow our team to over 800 people shows the important role we are all playing in all our energy futures.”
Those wishing to attend are asked to declare an expression of interest to allow organisers to be aware of estimated attendees, before turning up on the day between 9:30am and 3pm.
