Residents and library users will have the chance to shape the future of Avenues library in Hull.
Hull City Council is working in partnership with Goodwin Development Trust and the Avenues Centre Support Group to repurpose the Avenues Centre on Park Avenue. As part of the wider plans there are proposals to relocate the library from its current location at 76 Chanterlands Avenue to the Avenues Centre in order to create a community arts hub.
Taking place until Sunday 9 September, the consultation seeks to understand the views of the local community and explore whether they would like this proposal to move forward as well as themes around the frequency of visits, the services currently delivered at the library and in the future, accessibility and opening hours, in order to deliver an effective and well-used library service for the whole community.
Peoples views will be sought on these to help determine a final informed decision on the way ahead, which is expected in the autumn.
Councillor Daren Hale, Portfolio Holder for Economic Investment, Regeneration, Planning, Land and Property, said: The purpose of the consultation is to gauge the level of support and views of the users and the public alike.
I would urge residents to take part and the feedback received during the consultation phase will help us make an informed decision for the benefit of the local community.

The Avenues library is currently open Monday: 9.30am 1pm, Tuesday and Thursday: 2 – 5.30pm, closed Wednesday, Friday: 9.30am 1pm and 2 5pm and 10am 1pm on Saturday.
