Safeguarding Adults Week is back for 2022.

Free virtual workshops on offer this National Safeguarding Adults Week

East Riding and Hull Safeguarding Adults Boards are joining forces with the Ann Craft Trust this National Safeguarding Adults Week (NSAW) to raise awareness of important safeguarding issues.

They want to help more people and organisations feel confident in recognising the signs of abuse and neglect and reporting safeguarding concerns.

NSAW is a week where organisations across the country come together to highlight the importance of protecting adults at risk of abuse or neglect and educate people on what they can do to help.

Many free virtual workshops will be available during the week on topics such as exploitation, county lines, domestic abuse, hoarding, fraud prevention, safeguarding older people and advocacy, care standards and much more. Check the Eventbrite listings here to see what’s on offer and to sign up.

To raise further awareness of the campaign, Hull’s Murdoch’s Connection (the new footbridge across the A63) will be lit up green throughout the week to support the safeguarding of vulnerable adults.

Councillor Linda Chambers, the portfolio holder for Adult Social Care and Public Health said: “We’ve all got a part to play in preventing abuse and ensuring the wellbeing of our vulnerable adults in the city. Therefore, it is important we keep raising awareness of the signs and the actions we should take if we spot abuse.”

To learn more about the different types and patterns of abuse and neglect, as well as the different circumstances in which they may take place, please visit the Hull Safeguarding Adults Board website.

To report abuse or discuss a concern call: 01482 616 092 and speak to the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub or call 01482 300 304 after 5.00pm and at weekend.
