Hull City Council staff shortlisted in multiple national awards

Staff working in Adult Social Care and Children’s Services across Hull City Council have been shortlisted for a number of national awards.

The council have been shortlisted in the national Social Worker of the Year Awards three times, the Children and Young People Now Awards four times and they have one shortlisted in the Local Government Chronicle (LGC) Workforce Awards.

The Social Worker of the Year Awards is the only major national awards event for social work in England, attracting hundreds of entries every year. The finalists were chosen by panels of independent judges including previous award winners, social workers, industry leaders and people with lived experience of social work.

The Children & Young People Now Awards aim to showcase innovation and outstanding practice across the children’s services sector and champion the vital work of services supporting children, young people and families across the UK.

The LGC Workforce Awards showcase workplace best practices, featuring a panel discussion, keynote speakers, and the live judging of four categories.

All the award ceremonies take place in November.

Councillor Mike Ross, the Leader of Hull City Council, said: “Being shortlisted for these national awards is a major achievement. Congratulations to our teams, who work hard every day for people in our city.”
